Who Walks Away from the C-Suite?!…
Fifteen years.
For fifteen years, I poured my heart into education. Formally, I was a teacher, administrator, project manager, and Chief of Staff. Informally, I was a friend, snot wiper, shoe tier, confidant, therapist, and professional fixer.
Part of the journey is knowing when to leave your legacy on the table before you risk harming it. The signs were there. I had to check my mindset more often than usual. The Sunday scaries hit a little harder. My blood pressure was up, and my weight followed. I felt like I was spending more energy protecting the organization I was working for from outside forces than I was pouring into the people within it.
SEES started as a distraction. An outlet. Something to try, just to bring in a little extra income and help diversify my resume. (Because in 2025, staying with a company for fifteen years is somehow seen as a professional liability.) What began as a side project became the thing that gave me just enough joy to face Monday mornings.
Now, the side project is going to be my main. And I couldn’t be happier.
Change is scary. But I’m proud of me. Let’s go!
